Galentine’s Day!

Viele Leute sind schon voller Vorfreude auf den Valentinstag morgen, aber ich freue mich heute schon, denn es ist Galentine’s Day! Das ist der Tag vor dem 14. an dem man statt der romatischen Liebe die Liebe zu seinen Freunden feiert. Ich finde man nimmt sich viel zu wenig Zeit dazu seine Freundschaften wertzuschätzen, deshalb liebe ich es, dass Leslie aus der Serie Parks and Recreation diesen Tag in unser Leben gebracht. Übrigens eine Serie, die ich bisher nur passiv über Tumblr Gifs gesehen habe haha.

Pünktlich zu diesem besonderen Tag hat das Wetter eine komplette Kehrtwende gemacht. Samstag noch hat es hier bei mir geschneit und ich dachte schon der Winter würde nie verschwinden. Und jetzt scheint die Sonne und es ist wunderbar mild. Um diese Vorboten des Frühlings richtig zu zelebrieren bin ich gleich losgezogen und hab mir frische Blumen, und da ich sowas noch nicht hatte, auch meine erste eigene Vase gekauft. Ein weiterer Schritt zu einem kompletten Hausstand. Wenn euch übrigens interessiert wie ich zwei leere Zimmer zu meiner neuen Heimat gemacht habe, dann schaut auf jeden Fall bald noch mal vorbei, denn darum wird sich mein nächster Post drehen.

Da dieser Tag ja auch irgendwie die Liebe feiert und diese ja bekanntlich durch den Magen geht, musste zu den Blumen auch noch etwas zu Essen her. Und was drückt mehr Liebe aus als Schokoladen Cupcakes mit frischen Himbeeren? Nicht sehr viel finde ich, also fiel die Wahl einfach. Der Boden ist dabei ein Schokomuffin mit großen Schokostückchen drin und die Creme besteht aus Mascarpone, Crème fraîche, Zitronensaft und Zucker. Die Himbeeren bringen noch ein bisschen Frische on top und weil ich auf ein bisschen Kitsch stehe waren die Zuckerherzen obligatorisch.

Lot’s of people are hyped about Valentine’s Day tomorrow but I’m much more hyped about Galentine’s Day! There is not nearly enough time of the year dedicated to celebrate friendships so I love that Leslie from Parks and Recreation brought this fun day into our lifes. By the way a series I only watched passively over Gifs on Tumblr haha. Friends are by your side throughout your life no matter if times are good or bad so why not use a whole day to show each other how happy you are to have each other?

Just in time for this lovely occasion the weather here did the whole 180°. Saturday we had snow and I thought winter would never end but now it’s sunny and almost warm! To celebrate this glimpse of spring I bought flowers and, because I didn’t have any yet, my very first vase. Another step to a fully equipped household! My next post will be a about my apartment so stay tuned if you are interested in how I transformed these two empty rooms into my own little home. 

So this day is about the love to our friends. And what says love more than chocolate cupcakes with raspberries? Not very much I think, so the choice on food for the day wasn’t too hard. The bottom is a simple chocolate chunk muffin and the top is mascarpone and crème fraîche with lemon juice and sugar. And because I love a bit of kitsch I sprinkled some sugar hearts over them in the end.
